Semi-intensive General English course for teachers at ISI Dublin is designed for educators, education professionals and Erasmus+ participants who want to improve their English while taking part in a flexible teacher-focused programme in Dublin.

  • 20 hours per week: 15 hours of General English + 5 hours of Special Topics or Electives
  • Class times: 08:00 – 12:15 or 09:00 – 12:15, plus 12:25 – 13:25
  • Suitable for participants from A1 to C1 level

Course description

Erasmus English course for teachers in Dublin

This Semi-intensive General English course gives teachers and Erasmus+ participants the opportunity to strengthen their English language skills, grammar, vocabulary and confidence in a supportive international environment. Classes are led by ISI Dublin’s experienced English language teachers, using a communicative methodology focused on practical, everyday communication.

This course is part of our Erasmus courses for teachers in Dublin, designed to support educators who want to improve their English, develop professionally and experience Dublin as part of their Erasmus+ mobility programme.

Course content

General English: Participants are tested and placed in the appropriate CEFR level. The course includes orientation, needs analysis, setting learning outcomes, language focus and skills workshops, assessment of learning, one-to-one feedback and a certificate presentation.

The course covers general English skills, pronunciation activities, communicative exercises, writing assignments with feedback, communicative projects, assessment of learning outcomes and progress tests with feedback. Using a communicative approach, participants focus on real-life communication, exchanging ideas, opinions and experiences that are meaningful and long-lasting.

Special Topics or Electives: In addition to the 15 hours of General English, participants follow 5 hours of Special Topics or Electives per week. These additional lessons help teachers and Erasmus+ participants develop practical communication skills and explore themes relevant to education, culture and professional development.
