The ISI Dublin social programme is an essential part of our teacher programmes and Erasmus+ experience in Ireland. It gives teachers, education professionals and international participants the opportunity to explore Dublin, practise English outside the classroom and connect with people from around the world.

The ISI Social Programme is a great way for teachers and Erasmus+ participants to meet new people, explore the historic city of Dublin and practise English in real-life situations with the support of enthusiastic ISI activity leaders. Our friendly social programme coordinators organise a wide variety of tours, clubs, evening events and excursions throughout the year.

From orientation tours to conversation exchanges, the weekly ISI Social Programme is packed with cultural, educational and immersive events. It complements our Erasmus courses for teachers in Dublin by helping participants experience Irish culture, build confidence in English and make the most of their time in Ireland.

Erasmus social programme Dublin

The social programme includes a mix of free and paid afternoon tours, evening clubs, evening events and Saturday excursions to different parts of Ireland. Many activities are accompanied by a native-speaking ISI activity leader, helping participants discover local culture while continuing to practise English outside the classroom.

Dublin is a small city and is often best explored on foot. Guided tours and hikes help teachers and Erasmus+ participants discover places of interest, understand the local context and practise English while exploring the city and its surroundings. These activities are also a great way for new participants to get to know Dublin and make international connections.

Conversation Corner gives participants the chance to practise English in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere. Coordinated by ISI staff, this activity uses language games and conversation techniques to encourage communication, helping teachers and international students build confidence outside the classroom.

History Club allows participants to learn about Ireland’s rich cultural past in a fun and interactive way, using online resources, documentaries, music and film. For teachers and Erasmus+ participants, it is a useful opportunity to explore Irish culture, discuss cultural topics and meet people from other classes and backgrounds.

Our international student parties and evening events give participants the chance to relax, socialise and enjoy Dublin’s friendly atmosphere. These events are part of the wider ISI experience and help teachers, students and Erasmus+ participants connect outside the classroom.

Jobs Club supports participants who want to learn more about employment skills in an English-speaking environment. Topics may include how to find a job, writing a CV and cover letter, and developing interview skills. For teachers, it can also be a useful professional development activity linked to workplace communication and learner support.

Saturday tours give participants the opportunity to explore Ireland beyond Dublin. Destinations may include Belfast, the Titanic Museum, the Cliffs of Moher, Glendalough and Kilkenny Castle. These tours are a great way for teachers and Erasmus+ participants to experience Irish culture, practise English and meet other international students.
