Course description
Intensive English course for Erasmus participants
This Intensive General English course gives teachers and Erasmus+ participants the opportunity to develop their English language skills, grammar, vocabulary and confidence through a more intensive weekly timetable. The course is delivered by ISI Dublin’s experienced English language teachers, with a focus on communicative methodology and authentic, everyday interaction to promote real-life language use.
This course is part of our Erasmus courses for teachers in Dublin, designed for educators who want to improve their English, develop professionally and experience Dublin as part of their Erasmus+ mobility programme.
25-hour English course for teachers
General English: Participants are assessed and placed in the appropriate CEFR level. The course includes orientation, needs analysis, setting learning outcomes, language focus and skills workshops, assessment of learning, one-to-one feedback and a certificate presentation.
The programme covers general English skills, pronunciation activities, communicative exercises, writing assignments with feedback, communicative projects and progress tests with feedback. Using a communicative approach, participants focus on real-life communication, exchanging ideas, opinions and experiences that are meaningful and lasting.
Special Topics and Electives: In addition to the 15 hours of General English, participants follow 5 hours of Special Topics and 5 hours of Elective classes per week. This English course with Special Topics and Electives allows teachers and Erasmus+ participants to explore professional, cultural and communication-focused themes while developing their English in a dynamic international environment.
