Erasmus+ Mobility Document Information

The following information can be used when completing the Erasmus+ Mobility documents for Intensive General English for Teachers – 25 hour programme.

1. Learning outcomes Intensive General English for teachers

The parties have agreed that the following learning outcomes should be achieved during the learning mobility:

Outcome 1: Writing and Grammar class
Relevant subject, skill or competence: This class will be focused on a grammar point that will be explained and developed by the teacher. The teacher will provide opportunities for students to learn and practise. A variety of writing tasks will be assigned to practise the grammar point. Speaking opportunities will also make this class a very interactive and communicative one.
Description: The grammar points will be determined by the teacher according to the level and the students’ needs. The writing tasks will vary between sentence production, paragraphs or full essays.
Outcome 2: General English Class
Relevant subject, skill or competence: This class will be selected depending on the student’s level according to the Common European Framework of Reference – Council of Europe. The General English classes involve grammar, vocabulary and the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Description: The teacher will design activities based on the syllabus and schemes of work for the level. The activities will be selected from a variety of books and materials carefully selected to meet the criteria of the curriculum and the needs of the students.
Outcome 3: Conversation Class
Relevant subject, skill or competence: This class is focused mainly on the practice of the speaking skills. The teacher will design activities giving the students opportunities to practise speaking with a topic and aim in context. The students will participate in pairs or in groups and then give class feedback.
Description: The teacher will monitor the students’ speaking skills, fluency and accuracy and give feedback at the end of class. The students will be involved in the error correction feedback and learn from their mistakes. Pronunciation will also be a focus of this class and drilling will take place to correct students’ pronunciation.

Learning programme and tasks

To achieve the agreed learning outcomes, the participant will complete the following activities and tasks during their mobility activity.

Activity / task 1: Writing and Grammar
Description: Grammar and writing activities for the students to produce writing pieces more accurately and coherently
Activity / task 2: General English
Description: Practice of grammar and vocabulary with the 4 main skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Pronunciation and phonetics as well.
Activity / task 3: Conversation
Description: Speaking skills with vocabulary input and error correction

2. Evaluation of learning outcomes

After the mobility activity, the participant’s learning outcomes will be assessed in the following way:

Evaluation format:
The teacher will conduct continuous assessment during class of all skills, grammar and vocabulary and pronunciation. Assessment will be formative and summative, written and oral and formal and informal during various stages of the course.
Evaluation criteria:
The evaluation criteria will be based on the Common European Framework of Reference – Council of Europe and based on the school syllabus and schemes of work.
Evaluation procedures:
Teacher evaluation of progress during the week and end of week test. Feedback will be given by the teacher during class time as a group and individually

3. Recognition of learning outcomes

After the mobility activity, the participant’s learning outcomes will be assessed in the following way:

Recognition conditions:
The learning outcomes will be communicated to the students by the teacher at the start of every week, reviewed during the week and assessed at the end of the week.
Recognition procedures:
The procedure will be formal and informal assessment, summative and formative assessment and feedback will be given by the teacher at the end of every week.
